Perfect Phone
Ok, so there is a post about this, however I wanted to write up a summary of the post in here so that its nice and easy to access.
This is basically what I would consider to be the perfect phone – the features it would have, some design decisions, and select hardware. Most importantly, all of what I describe is already available. Check out the original post for a more detailed description:
- A strong signal regardless of the location (hybridized to keep a good battery life)
- High quality earpiece and microphone, able to filter out environmental noise while automatically adjusting for noise levels
- 3.2″+, 16M color, AMOLED, high-sensitivity resistive touch display with 640 x 360 or higher resolution display
- HDTV-out capabilities (i.e.: minimum 720p out)
- Usage of high quality materials in construction, and designing with common failure points in mind (using rubber dampeners for shock absorption)
- 32GB internal storage + microSD slot
- Multi-core, variable speed CPU, clocking in at 400MHz – 800MHz
- Dedicated graphics and sound processor, or a GPU-designed central processor
- 3.5mm audio out
- Longer lasting batteries (2-3 days of heavy usage minimum)
- Larger-size 5-8MP camera sensor with 3x optical zoom, and dedicated image processor (designed by a high-end camera company)
- Device driver-level location API including high sensitivity GPS receiver, and compass/accelerometer integration for speed and direction
- And of course, it has to be affordable with all these features

Hope this was helpful in some way,
